I've not got much in the way of musical talent but I love playing with rhythm and rhyme, so in my time I've worked on a few songs.
In 2015 I helped my ex produce the video for What The Actual Fuck.
We were still together when she wrote The Broken Penis Song, based on my, uh, penis.
But even before I met her, I was playing with lyrics: Devil Child (December 2007), My Father Was A Baker (June 2009).
A format I invented; a poem that reads both forwards and backwards, but by stanza instead of by letter/word. The first stanza is also the last; the second is also the second-last, etc. Also: the first stanza has one line, the second stanza has two lines, the third has three...
It's easy to write Palinpoems that describe something repetitive - the real challenge is in trying to tell a story, something that gives the first stanza a different meaning when it comes around again.
If you want to try writing some of these, hit me up with your attempts and I'll publish them on their own page.
